the snow that falls down in the middle of march
2002-03-18 | 11:34 p.m.

"I didn't even think about the rain, no, I didn't even think about the snow that falls down in the middle of March..." ~Garrity, "The Rain"

It snowed today. I mean, it really snowed. Snowed and snowed and snowed. I was not impressed, especially when I got slush-spattered by a passing bus. Bah. I don't care if it was a wussy winter, I'm ready for spring! I've had about all I can take of the midwinter blahs.

so, what's with the name?

Delta Orion is me. Actually, she isn't me at all. She's a character. In a story. That I wrote. Or, more accurately, that I tried several times to write, each time being brought up short by some wild improbability in my plot. But I'm working on it. That, I suppose, is what happens when you start with a name, and then build your story from there.

It just came to me one day -- Delta Orion ... wouldn't that be a cool name for a character in a space-opera-type story? From the name, I built the character, and around the character, I've built, demolished, and rebuilt the story several times. Someday, I will actually finish it.

Quote of the Day:

"I have not failed. I've just found 10 000 ways that won't work." ~Thomas Alva Edison
